American Family Values - AR Constitutional Militia Leader Fincher May be Military Commissions Act First Victim

By Loretta Weston, editor American Family Voice news

On Wednesday, November 8, 2006, federal agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and FBI and assisted by Washington County Sheriff's Office, Fayetteville Police Department, Springdale Police Department, Arkansas State Police, Arkansas State Bomb Squad and the Madison County Sheriff's Department raided the home of and arrested 60-year-old Hollis Wayne Fincher, who resides near Fayetteville, Arkansas in Washington County for allegedly possessing illegal firearms. According to the ATF press release, Fincher was arrested as part of the federal gun violence prevention program, Project Safe Neighborhoods, which locals claim has ignored the growing gangs in the area.

Held without bond, Fincher is well known in a community that largely supports Christianity and patriotism and has been leader of the Washington County Arkansas Constitutional Militia group whose motto is "Defending Liberty and serving Washington County since 1994". Along with the group's self defense expertise, they have continued to be out front in education regarding the Arkansas State Constitution and have the fruits of their diligence "The Silver Bullet" available on their web site at www.arkansasmilitia.com for all interested parties, which was described in federal court as "the rebuttal to the National Firearms Act" regarding the regulation of machine guns.

So Whats so different about us REFORM people...

For far too long, those who have been fortunate enough to find themselves with the responsibility of being our representatives have often times grown accustomed to their appointments and often times have found that it is far better for themselves to keep a low profile and support positions that, unfortunately, ignore pressing issues of concern. As a Kansan and an American I have noticed many developments that are occuring all around us that are troubling both on a State wide and a National level. One of the true joy's in my life is my hobby as a journalist. For many years it has been my goal in life to expose problems and offer solutions. I believe that a wise thing to do is to interview people who have had success with various problems and then listen to those who have "been there and done that" .
I believe this process has been circumvented for a long time by a motivation to retain office at any cost. I want to break that mold.

Why Reform Eminent Domain?

[This Post|Printable PDF|Printable Flyers]

Eminent Domain is the issue at our doors today. We know that "the power to tax is the power to destroy." A more direct and immediately destructive power is the power to condemn private property with Eminent Domain. The current abuse of Eminent Domain for private development calls for Reform! The Reform Party of Kansas is against the use of Eminent Domain for private development.

In a government "for the people, of the people, and by the people," the power of Eminent Domain in the hands of our elected officials must be carefully scrutinized by the electorate and only tolerated with great trepidation and disappointment that a mutually satisfactory agreement could not be reached - and then only for obviously public works.

The attempt to use Eminent Domain to condemn Jerry's Bike Shop did not come from the people. It came from the efforts of a private developer that could have directly negotiated with an existing, well-established, 25-year old Topeka business, or that could have adjusted their plans to work around such a business. To see this developer instead take their case to the city government with designs to become successful with another person's property and with "forward-looking" promises to the city of increased revenue is beyond words! That a city government would even consider such a proposal is outrageous: that one person's business should be handed over to another private entity for the advancement of all but the original owner!

Why Reform?

Your family's interests as well as ours are being trampled upon by the self-interests of our elected officials who:

Constantly seek to increase the size of our already enormous government;

Further raise our taxes any time their pet projects are short of funds;

Ignore or scorn our desires for morality and justice in government;

Tolerate and even encourage the flood of illegal aliens into our country;

Take away our constitutionally protected rights by unethical activity;

Allow activist judges to make laws without authority and accountability;

Steer us toward centralized federal control and one-world government.
