Alabama farmers get new help for harvest from unemployed and studentsEllen Jenkins had 50 acres of produce and no one
to pick it, after Alabama's tough new immigration law sent her field
hands packing.
But on Thursday, about 20 workers, mostly inexperienced, arrived at her Chandler Mountain farm to help, by midafternoon picking 125 cartons of tomatoes just in time to keep the harvest from being a total loss. "Me and my kids were going to just pick what we could and I didn't even think we were going to get any help," Jenkins said. The fill-in workers were brought to the farm near Steele by Grow Alabama, a Birmingham-based network that works with farmers from around the state to market locally-grown produce. Just a few days after launching the temporary assistance program, it's been overwhelmed, Grow Alabama head Jerry Spencer said Thursday. Spencer is talking with the state agriculture department about finding funding for transportation. And Agriculture Commissioner John McMillan said Thursday that he's trying to make arrangements to use people from the Department of Corrections' work-release program as field hands, and to pull unemployed workers off the state rolls, as well. McMillan said the details weren't finalized, but there could be something up and running next week. Subjects - Alabama, illegal immigration, agriculture, farmers, workers, unemployed. Rep. Issa says Fast and Furious subpoenas will be issued soonHouse Oversight and Government Reform Committee
Chairman Darrell Issa said Sunday that he could issue subpoenas to the
Justice Department this week in connection to a now-discredited federal
gunrunning operation.
Speaking on "Fox News Sunday," Issa said that he wants a better understanding of who knew what, when about Operation Fast and Furious. "But more importantly, we have to understand at what level did the authorization really come?" he said. "People at the top of (the) Justice (Department) were well briefed, knew about it and seemed to be the command and control and funding for this program." The operation involved agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives allowing illegal sales of guns believed to be destined for Mexican drug cartels to "walk" from Phoenix, Arizona, gun stores into Mexico. We Need a Stronger Start While Setting New RecordsFriends of ALIPAC,
We need a much stronger start to our third and final funds drive of 2011 if we are going to meet our financial needs in the next few days at ALIPAC. Please take a few minutes to visit our secure online donations page to make a donation at... http://www.alipac.us/content-9.html There are four ways we can conduct this funds drive needed to meet ALIPAC's base budget for web hosting, postage, email distribution, press release, small salaries, office equipment, event travel funds, and all the other things required to run an effective national organization fighting illegal immigration. 1. We can request the funds displacing a small number of our email alerts and continue full operations which are already stretched to capacity as we go. 2. We can heavily limit our activism, lobbying, and national strategies to focus significant time and resources on the funds drive instead... In Iowa, illegal immigration problem grows for Rick PerryOctober 8, 2011
Reid J. Epstein POLITICO LLC SPENCER, Iowa — Rick Perry’s immigration problem isn’t going away. It’s getting bigger. Two weeks after he said Republicans who disagree with the Texas law allowing undocumented immigrants in-state tuition “don’t have a heart,” angering many of his base, Perry found himself in northwest Iowa Saturday trying to explain to voters exactly what the program does. He did not have much success, his words seeming to confuse some voters rather than allay their suspicions. “I’m not sure exactly what he wants,” said one. “Maybe I misunderstood,” said another. Governor Brown Signs Second Half of California Dream Act for IllegalsOctober 8, 2011
Associated Press FOX News Network, LLC Illegal immigrants can now apply for state-funded scholarships and aid at state universities after Gov. Jerry Brown announced Saturday that he has signed the second half of a legislative package focused on such students. AB131 by Assemblyman Gil Cedillo, D-Los Angeles, is the second half of the California Dream Act. Brown signed the first half of the package in July, which approved private scholarships and loans for students who are illegal immigrants. Under current law, illegal immigrant students who have graduated from a California high school and can prove they're on the path to legalize their immigration status can pay resident tuition rates. The bill would allow these students to apply for state aid. CBS Reporter to O'Reilly: More to Come on 'Fast and Furious'CBS's Sharyl Attkisson, the only Big Three network reporter who's been regularly covering the "Fast and Furious" controversy, appeared on Thursday's O'Reilly Factor, throwing cold water on an earlier report that she was "unavailable" for further interviews on the story. Attkisson emphasized that there was a lot more to the issue than what has already reported, but "we need to get more confirmation."
The Fox News host pressed the journalist on her revelation from Tuesday's Laura Ingraham Show, that associate White House communications director Eric Schultz "screamed and cussed" at her for her reporting on the controversy. Attkisson would only state that "the conversation, as you reported it, was accurate," and later added that "the point is really not the content of that. The point is, story-wise, it seems significant and important how people handle questions, and how they react when you ask questions." The CBS journalist also revealed that there was more depth to the issue than meets the eye: Topics: Operation Fast and Furious, U.S.-Mexico border, DOJ, border violence Categories: Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, Illegal Immigration, International, Issues, Loss of Jobs, News, Politics, Truth News, US
Poll: Rick Perry Support Implodes over Illegal Immigration FiascoALIPAC NOTE: Special thanks to every ALIPAC activist that helped to circulate Rick Perry's real positions in support of the illegal immigration invasion of America. Perry's support for in-state tuition for illegal aliens combined with his opposition to the border wall and Arizona's SB 1070 has been his downfall. ALIPAC's prediction "Rick Perry is Finished" was reported widely in the national media and is being proven accurate in the latest scientific polls like this one from Zogby. In our experience, Zogby and Rasmussen polls are the most trustworthy on these issues.

Cain would also narrowly edge out Obama in a general election, the poll found, by a 46 percent“44 margin. Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, would lose by a point to the president, 40 percent to 41 percent. Texas governor Rick Perry, who has slipped in the polls of late, would lose to the president 45 percent to 40 percent. The poll found that 38 percent of Republican primary voters said they would vote for Cain if the primary were held today. Eighteen percent said they would throw their support to Romney, while 12 percent each said they would vote for Perry and Texas congressman Ron Paul. No other candidate attracted double-digit support. New Record: Nation's immigrant population, legal & illegal, hits recordWASHINGTON -- The nation's immigrant population -- legal and illegal -- reached 40 million in 2010, the highest number in American history, according to new data from the Census Bureau.
Nearly 14 million new immigrants settled in the country from 2000 to 2010, making it the highest decade of immigration in American history. The immigration record came despite a net decline of jobs during the decade. In contrast, from 1990 to 2000, job growth was 22 million and 13.2 million new immigrants arrived. Judge says no delay for Alabama immigration lawA federal judge in Birmingham Wednesday afternoon denied requests by groups seeking to block Alabama's new immigration law while they appeal her decision allowing most its major elements to go into effect.
U.S. District Court Judge Sharon Blackburn ruled that neither the U.S. Justice Department nor a coalition of groups represented by the American Civil Liberties Union, the Southern Poverty Law Center and the National Immigration Law Center had shown they were likely to prevail on the appeal against HB 56, signed into law by Gov. Robert Bentley on June 9. Blackburn last week allowed most portions of the law to go into effect, saying neither group had met standards for enjoining the entire law. Deep Defense needed in CA, Victories in RI and ALFriends of ALIPAC,
By now, many of you reading our homepage at www.alipac.us are aware of our victory in Alabama where a judge has upheld most of the strongest state level illegal immigration fighting legislation in America. This decision is a big defeat for the Obama administration and will have far reaching positive influence for the American Defender team in the future. ALIPAC worked hard to pass that law in AL and soon we will deploy our network to circulate it to other states as we successfully did with AZ's SB 1070! Yesterday's protest in Providence, Rhode Island, was a great success! Over 500 Americans like you turned out. Talk radio shows really got on board and those shows combined with brave state lawmakers proved to be a successful combination. Governor Chafee in RI is in deep trouble now for his support for in-state tuition for illegal aliens. This time, the Americans showed up and the illegals did not! More info and action items on RI and AL soon. Special thanks to each ALIPAC supporter who attended, spread the word, or called to ring the phones off the hooks in the RI legislature yesterday! --- Rally draws 500 to State House to protest in-state tuition action 6:00 PM Wed, Oct 05, 2011 Randal Edgar Email PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A news conference and rally organized by six state lawmakers drew some 500 people to the front of the State House Wednesday afternoon to protest Governor Chafee's support for in-state tuition and possible driver's permits for undocumented immigrants. Some carried signs, some carried flags and a few even came with black carnations -- originally intended as a countermeasure to an earlier event on Wednesday in which children brought roses to the governor's office to thank him for his immigration policies. Trail of Guns, Death, and Invasion Leads To Barack Obamaby William Gheen
President of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC www.ALIPAC.us October 5, 2011 It's official. Republicans in Congress are now calling for the Department of Justice to appoint special counsel to further investigate the Gunwalker Fast and Furious scandal after explosive new evidence shows that Obama's appointee Eric Holder lied to Congress about his knowledge of the scandal. The administration of Barack Obama has been caught using our tax monies and at least four different federal law enforcement agencies to provide thousands of assault rifles and possibly grenades to the murderous criminal syndicates in Mexico. They are invading America with an army of illegal immigrants carrying vast amounts of cocaine and methamphetamine for sale to American youths. White House and Department of Justice employees are now shouting and screaming at reporters inquiring about the latest findings in these scandals. Those sounds of screams should be music to the ears of Americans seeking justice because in my past experience it shows that the Obama administration is finally cracking up. Republicans Request Special Counsel to Probe Holder on Fast & FuriousOctober 4, 2011
FOX News Network, LLC EXCLUSIVE: House Republicans are calling for a special counsel to determine whether Attorney General Eric Holder misled Congress during his testimony to the House Judiciary Committee on Operation Fast and Furious, Fox News has learned. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith, R-Texas, was sending a letter to President Obama on Tuesday arguing that Holder cannot investigate himself, and requesting the president instruct the Department of Justice to appoint a special counsel. The question is whether Holder knowingly made false statements of fact under oath during a Judiciary Committee hearing on May 3. At the time, Holder indicated he was not familiar with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives program known as Fast and Furious until about April 2011. Sheriff Babeu: 'Get real' about enforcing immigration lawsPHOENIX -- The United States must "get real" about enforcing immigration laws, according to Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, an outspoken critic of the way Mexican border issues are being handled.
"The most important aspect and sequence is the enforcement of the law. We're still not enforcing the law, we have to get real about prosecuting all these people," Babeu told Eric Bolling on FOX Business "Follow the Money" Monday night. Babeu said he is not impressed with the suggestion of Texas Gov. Rick Perry, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, that U.S. troops should be sent across the border into Mexico to help fight the violent Mexican cartels. The sheriff noted Perry has defended in-state college tuition for the children of illegal immigrants. American Defenders Please Converge on This Event!Friends of ALIPAC,
We have learned just in the last 24 hours of an important event in Rhode Island. The Governor of Rhode Island, Lincoln D. Chafee ((401) 222-2080 / governor@governor.ri.gov), is pushing for licenses and in-state tuition for illegal aliens at a time when most others are running from the issue. The globalists want Chafee to come out in the open like this to try and maintain the appearance that there is some legitimate support for replacing American kids in the limited seats in our colleges with illegal aliens. Only in very liberal leaning states like Maryland and Rhode Island can they advance this agenda at this time, and the brave folks in Maryland are about to reverse their in-state tuition law. More on that later. Right now we need you doing two simple steps: Step 1. If you are within a two hour drive of Providence, RI, we need you to adjust your schedule and drop whatever you were doing to converge on the event where patriots like us are standing up to a protest supported by the invaders. We are getting notice to you within 24 hours of receiving it ourselves, so please, no complaints about short notice. Also, if you think whatever you had planned for tomorrow is more important, just imagine how busy running and hiding you will be if we fail and the next batch of 15 million illegal aliens come down on your life and world. Dueling immigration rallies planned Wednesday at RI State HouseALIPAC NOTE: All American defenders that oppose illegal immigration need to meet our brave Rhode Island lawmakers for a rally at 5pm ET, Wednesday Oct. 5, in front of the Rhode Island legislative building (side facing Smith St.). The Legislative Building is located at 82 Smith Street, Providence Rhode Island. American flags and appropriate signs are optional. Your presence is the most important thing.
By Randal Edgar Journal State House Bureau 01:00 AM EDT on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 PROVIDENCE — Two groups with different agendas will be at the State House on Wednesday, one to “demand that Governor Chafee cease and desist” in his efforts to create immigration law “through his own system of Obama-like czars,” and the other to thank Chafee for supporting policies that help illegal immigrants. On hand to demand that Chafee back off will be six state lawmakers who said in a statement Monday that the governor has “ignored the will of the people” and “relegated our General Assembly to the sidelines” by supporting new in-state tuition rates for illegal immigrants and looking into possible driver’s permits for illegal immigrants. Chris Christie Supports Amnesty for Illegal AliensFor National Release
October 4, 2011 CONTACT: Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) (866) 703-0864 Press@alipac.us Americans for Legal Immigration PAC is pointing out the hypocrisy of New Jersey Governor and potential presidential candidate Chris Christie's support for Comprehensive Immigration Reform Amnesty for illegal aliens. This while he is bashing others like Texas Governor Rick Perry for supporting licenses and in-state tuition for illegal immigrants. Chris Christie defeated Democratic Governor Corzine after making a top campaign issue of Corzine's support for licenses and in-state tuition for illegal aliens, both of which are opposed by approximately 80% of all Americans, including majorities of blacks, Democrats, and legal Hispanics according to numerous polls. Christie's tough language on illegal immigration issues, and his public apology, led New Jersey voters to forgive him for his comments in 2008 claiming “being in this country without proper documentation is not a crime.” Categories: Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, Illegal Immigration, International, Issues, Loss of Jobs, News, Politics, Truth News, US
Perry Encounters Protests on Campaign TrailTexas Gov. Rick Perry wined and dined with Republican donors Thursday in Charlotte, N.C. However, the dinner wasn’t all smiles and giggles. The fundraiser, which was held at a Tex-Mex restaurant, also drew protesters who were angry about the GOP presidential frontrunner’s stance on immigration.
According to the Charlotte Observer, the protesters carried signs with messages such as: “Say No to Rick Perry’s In-State Tuition for Illegal Aliens!” and “Rick Perry – Endorsed by Mexico!” The protest was organized by Americans for Legal Immigration, a group that staunchly opposes what they perceive as Perry’s “soft” stance on immigration. In 48 hours’ notice, the group rounded up 15 protesters. “The protest was a big success. We plan on announcing several other protests on Monday. We want to generate an environment where Rick Perry is protested everywhere he goes for his unpopular support for illegal immigration,” William Gheen, president of ALI, told The Christian Post. “We are going to protest until the chickens come home to roost.” After the dinner, Perry held a question and answer session with the media. Two men heckled Perry as he was trying to give answers. Gheen denies knowing the two men and says they had nothing to do with his organization. “Either those two men were overzealous in their actions or they were agent provocateurs hired by Perry to make us look bad. “ “You can’t dismiss the idea that they may have been planted in order to engage in activities designed to make us look unflattering. In politics it happens all the time,” continued Gheen, who has worked on 44 political campaigns. The Charlotte incident was just the last bump in the road for Perry on Thursday. Earlier in the day he held a press conference in Knoxville, Tenn. The Knoxville News Sentinel reports that “two unidentified men with video cameras made disruptive statements about the constitution and told Texas Gov. Rick Perry to stay out of Tennessee.” Reportedly, Perry hit back, saying he wouldn’t leave the state because “Tennessee is very important. If you look back Tennessee has been one of [the states] that has made the difference – it’s a swing state.” Topics: GOP, instate-tuition for illegal aliens, Rick Perry, Categories: Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, Illegal Immigration, International, Issues, Loss of Jobs, News, Politics, Truth News, US
FOX News - Perry's Poor Debate Put Romney Back in the LeadThe first national poll conducted since last Thursday’s Republican debate shows that Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s bumbled attacks on Mitt Romney and ‘heartless’ response to queries from his critics on instate tuition for illegal immigrants has cost him dearly among the Republican primary electorate.
In this new poll, Perry pulls only 19 percent of the vote, one of his worst showings since entering the race. Mitt Romney edges Perry narrowly, attracting 23 percent of the vote, while fast-food magnate Herman Cain roared into third place with 17 percent of the vote. This is the first poll that put Cain near the top of the pack. While one poll isn’t a trend and it will take additional polls to confirm the findings, the results seem to indicate that Perry’s poor debate performance may have done more damage to the Perry campaign than originally thought. Perry has attempted to mitigate the damage from that debate by claiming that he is truer to conservative principles, even if Romney is the more avuncular debater.
