Western Civilization has been warned, thanks to Patrick J. Buchanan. The Death of the West needed to be written; now it needs to be read.

Survey of Population Decline
The book starts with a comprehensive survey of the declining populations in the countries that have comprised "Western Civilization." It is interesting to see the trends and details, but for those with limited time, some of the sections can be skimmed over.

The general theme: The peoples of Western European descent (through which much of Christian Civilization was spread) are not having enough children to replace themselves in their own countries. In some countries, especially France, the economy and service sector are largely dependent on foreign workers to staff the work-force. The dominant group of foreign workers is usually Moslems, one of the few peoples that have resisted the current trend of "Planned Barrenhood."

Who Did It and Why
The book proceeds to explain how this trend to de-populate Western Civilization was engineered, who were its architects, and what their goals are:

Seeing their original plans for world domination thwarted by the patriotism and morality engendered by Western Christian Civilization, the followers of Marx and Lenin (Bolschevics, Communists, Socialists, etc.) took aim at the societal pillars that supported these obstacles: Christianity itself, especially those social norms and structures that had developed along its guide-lines.

Their main course of attack became:

• Promote sexual "liberation" and aggressive sexual education for students.
• Infiltrate the organizations and institutions that catalogued, educated, and entertained society: museums, libraries, theaters, and many other associations.
• Make complete use of media: movies and news especially.

Sad to say, their plan was aimed squarely at human weakness, and at this point can only be described as largely successful.

What To Do About It?
While admitting the bleak outlook, he reminds the reader of a few basic points:

1. Have Children! Instill them with your values!
   He gives the practical, sober reminder: If you want to do your small part in helping your culture and heritage (and religious values) survive, then raise children to carry them into the future.

   He has exposed the plan of those who want to destroy Christian values in order to impose their own atheistic distopia. He has made it clear that anti-Christian peoples (notably Moslems and the Chinese) are populous and productive enough to expand their numbers for the foreseeable future. Those that do not are consigning their descendents to a future of marginal insignificance, of being a minority, and a small one at that.

2. Don't give up!
   Contact your representatives to tell them what kind of country and society you want. The enemies of our culture are certainly diligent at this.

   Talk to your family, neighbors, anyone who might be interested in preserving and rebuilding a Christian society for their children and grandchildren.

The war over our culture is far advanced. The enemies are powerful, wealthy, industrious, organized, focused, and determined. They have grasped at what was not justly theirs, and we have largely handed it over without a struggle, at least not one worthy of what they are seizing. They are eager for us to despair, to give up, to surrender the remnants of society to them.

Do you want to surrender? Or do you want to persevere?

Do you want to abandon Christian Civilization to her enemies after so many of our anscestors have fought so hard to hand it over to us to guard? Or do you want to take up their cause, the perennial struggle of just people over grasping deceivers?

Let us go boldly into this dark night. May God help us!
